The Grooming Boutique — Cinematic Scroll-Film Website
The situation
The Grooming Boutique is a premium home-based dog grooming studio in Morganstown, Cardiff — one dog at a time, no cages, no rushing.
The site needed to show the grooming process, work on a phone and retain the existing blog URLs.
One rule was binding throughout: the film is brand cinema, but the proof section may only ever show real dogs, real photos and real reviews. Every photograph was provenance-checked before it shipped.
What was built
The centrepiece is a scroll-driven film engine, with separate frame sets for desktop and mobile painted to a canvas as you scroll. A chapter rail lets visitors jump straight to any beat of the film — Arrival to Reveal — and a second scrubbed scene walks the four-step grooming process further down the page.
The site brings together service information, a groom configurator, real client photography, Google reviews and booking through Bookd. The existing blog URLs were preserved.
The build uses a strict Content-Security-Policy, self-hosted fonts and reduced-motion support.
What it does now
Visitors can scroll through the grooming film, jump between its chapters or use the groom configurator before following the booking route into Bookd.
Visitors who prefer less motion get a still, complete page. The client photographs and reviews sit separately from the brand film.
